Our Montessori Adolescent Program serves middle school students during one of the most transformative stages of development. Grounded in Dr. Maria Montessori’s vision for the Third Plane of Development, this program supports adolescents as they form identity, develop moral awareness, and seek meaningful roles in society.

We combine authentic Montessori practice with strong academic preparation by aligning instruction with the Georgia Standards of Excellence for Middle School. Students are nurtured as whole individuals while building the academic foundation necessary for a successful transition to high school. Each student develops a comprehensive academic portfolio that reflects mastery, growth, and readiness for future academic challenges.

Our program reflects the hallmarks of exemplary Montessori adolescent education: rigorous academics, purposeful work, community engagement, and opportunities for self-discovery.

Our program is guided by core Montessori principles:

  • Education as an Aid to Life: Learning connects to real human needs and real-world application.
  • Independence & Responsibility: Students take ownership of their learning, time, and community roles.
  • Respect for Adolescent Development: The curriculum supports emotional sensitivity, social growth, and expanding intellectual capacity.
  • Interdisciplinary Learning: Subjects are integrated to reflect the interconnected nature of knowledge.
  • Community & Contribution: Students collaborate, lead, and serve through meaningful work.

Assessment & Academic Progress: While Montessori education emphasizes process, reflection, and mastery, we also prepare students for the expectations of high school academics through structured assessment. This balanced approach ensures students develop confidence with both authentic Montessori learning and traditional academic expectations.

Our assessment approach includes:

  • MAP Growth Assessments to measure academic progress and inform individualized instruction
  • Regular quizzes and graded assignments to build study skills and academic accountability
  • Project-based evaluations and presentations that demonstrate deep understanding
  • Student portfolios showcasing long-term growth, research, and interdisciplinary work
  • Student-led conferences encouraging reflection, goal-setting, and ownership of learning

Graduate Outcomes: Students completing our Montessori Adolescent Program are:

  • Academically prepared for high school
  • Independent, self-motivated learners
  • Critical thinkers and problem-solvers
  • Confident communicators
  • Compassionate, socially responsible leaders

Our Montessori Adolescent Program is not only preparation for high school, it is preparation for life,
purpose, and meaningful contribution to the world.
